Job Summary

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and managing distributor and retail relationships within the assigned territory. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, executing trade marketing activities, and leading field sales teams to strengthen brand visibility and distribution of edible oil, Mayonnaise and Margarine.

Job Details

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Manage distributors, wholesalers, and key retail accounts within the assigned area.
  • Ensure effective product distribution, availability, and visibility across all trade channels.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and consumer behavior.
  • Lead, coach, and supervise Sales Representatives and Territory Sales Officers.
  • Plan and implement promotions, product launches, and trade marketing activities.
  • Negotiate pricing, trade margins, and promotional agreements with channel partners.
  • Ensure proper stock management, rotation, and adherence to FIFO practices.
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in FMCG sales, preferably in edible oil, mayonnaise or food products.
  • Proven experience managing distributors and field sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of GT, MT, and institutional sales channels.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
