Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the overall human resources and administrative functions of the organization. This strategic role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company's objectives. The Manager will oversee core HR functions, ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Job Details
- Strategic HR Management: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business objectives. Provide strategic input into organizational planning and growth, including workforce planning, OD initiatives, and succession strategies. Support leadership and department heads in HR policy implementation and interpretation.
- Performance Management (PMS): Lead the development and refinement of a robust performance management system.
- Learning & Development (L&D): Design and implement an annual company-wide training plan in line with identified training needs. Assess training effectiveness through post-training evaluations, feedback, and follow-ups. Monitor all internal and external training programs, ensuring records are properly maintained. Compile and present monthly and quarterly training reports with 100% accuracy.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection process, develop effective talent sourcing strategies and maintain candidate pipelines. Ensure a structured, smooth, and timely onboarding process for all new hires.
- Policy Development & Compliance: Create, review, and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Nigerian labor laws. Ensure all policies are well communicated and implemented organization-wide. Serve as an internal HR advisor on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Succession Planning: Develop and implement succession strategies for 80% of key positions. Facilitate talent review sessions and manage leadership development initiatives.
- Employee Engagement & Relations: Design and drive employee engagement initiatives to improve morale, motivation, and retention. Manage grievance and disciplinary procedures, ensuring consistency, fairness, and confidentiality. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Reporting & HR Analytics: Prepare and submit accurate Bi-Monthly HR Reports, Training Reports, and Succession Plans. Analyze HR metrics to inform management decisions and continuous improvement.
- Workplace Safety, Housekeeping & Hygiene: Enforce daily compliance with workplace safety and hygiene standards in collaboration with HSE.
- HR Budgeting: Develop and monitor HR departmental budget and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
Requirements
The Person:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPM, CIPD, SHRM) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 4-5 years in a managerial capacity.
- Demonstrable experience managing HR operations in a structured, mid-to-large organization (manufacturing sector experience is a plus).
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and Nigerian labor laws.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and programs.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to HR.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
